The Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Government College Kodanchery organised a two day national seminar on the 6th and 7th of October 2017, sponsored by the Directorate of Collegiate Education on the Revised Accreditation Framework of NAAC launched in July 2017.
The seminar was inaugurated by Smt Kasturba, HOD, Department of Architecture, NIT kozhikode, who had prepared a master plan for the college for the next 15 years. The function was presided over by the college Principal Dr. S. Jayasree. Dr C.Krishnan, Vice Principal of the college presented the master plan.
In the panel discussion of the IQAC Coordinators held in the post lunch session, Dr. Abdul Gafoor(Principal Government College Koyilandy), Dr. Savitha (Government Arts and Science College Meenchanda), Dr. Arunlal(Government College Mokery), Dr. Sumodan, (Government College Madappally) and Smt. Shiny(Government College Tirur) participated. Dr. M.V. Suma was the moderator. The discussion focussed on the specific issues related to accreditation in government colleges and the apprehensions related to it.
On the second day of the national seminar, Dr.R. Selvam, former Dean of Science, Bishop Heber College, Trichy, eminent resource person on NAAC Accreditation process, made two presentations . The first presentation was on the Revised Accreditation Framework and the second presentation was on Academic Auditing. Both the sessions were followed by exhaustive discussions and interactions. Dr. Selvam was able to offer valid suggestions and solutions for the queries raised. Dr. Selvam also visited the various departments of the college and inspected the facilities provided by the college and suggested improvisations wherever necessary. 35 teachers including IQAC coordinators participated in the seminar which was well appreciated by them in the feedback obtained.
