NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME
Unit No.83 & 142, Govt. College Kodanchery

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a public service program governed by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. The scheme was launched in Gandhiji’s Centenary year, 1969. The main aim of National Service Scheme is to develop the personality of the students through community service. The National Service Scheme is a voluntary association of young people in Colleges, Universities and at +2 working for a campus-community linkage and for the personality development of the students. This program has been sponsored by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India.
Government College Kodanchery has two NSS units (Unit No.83 & 142) registered under University of Calicut. These two units help the college to keep the campus more active by undertaking diverse and inspiring activities. Number of students’ enrolment in each unit of the college is 50 per year.
